Yes, for 30 days. Snapsweep deletes through iOS, so everything lands in Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted. Open that album, select the items and tap Recover. After 30 days, or if you emptied the album yourself, the items are permanently gone and neither you nor we can restore them - which is why we recommend keeping an independent backup before a big cleanup.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the App. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Snapsweep Photo Cleaner and tap Cancel Subscription. To avoid being charged after the 3-day free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You keep Premium until the end of the current period. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription. Apple's step-by-step guide: support.apple.com/HT202039.
Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy Premium, then go to Settings → Premium → Restore Purchases (the button is also on the Premium screen). Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are both restored this way. If nothing is restored, check your Apple purchase history to confirm which Apple ID the purchase belongs to.
Because Apple processes every payment, refunds are also handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Snapsweep purchase and choose "Request a refund". We are not able to issue refunds ourselves.
The free version includes full scanning of every category, Swipe Cleaner, the storage widget and up to 20 deletions in total. Premium unlocks unlimited deletions, unlimited video compression, unlimited contact merges and calendar cleanup. It is offered as a weekly subscription at $4.99 with a 3-day free trial, a yearly subscription at $24.99, or a one-time lifetime purchase at $29.99.
Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days and still occupy storage until then. To reclaim the space immediately, open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted and tap Delete All - but only once you are sure. iOS also reports storage with a delay; give it a few minutes and reopen Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
Snapsweep needs full photo library access to scan. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Snapsweep Photo Cleaner and choose Full Access. "Limited access" only exposes the photos you hand-picked, so the App will appear to find almost nothing. If you use iCloud Photos with "Optimize iPhone Storage", the first scan may take longer because iOS has to fetch originals.
Grouping and blur detection are automatic estimates, not decisions. In a similar group the sharpest shot is pre-selected as the keeper and you can change it, or deselect everything and skip the group. For blur, the sensitivity is adjustable in Settings - raise the threshold if deliberately soft or artistic shots keep appearing. Nothing is deleted until you confirm.
The widget shows a snapshot written after a scan, so open the App and run one scan first. Then long-press your Home Screen, tap +, search for Snapsweep and add the widget. Tools → Set up widgets explains this in the App and shows a live preview. If it still looks stale, remove the widget and add it again, or restart your iPhone - iOS occasionally throttles widget refreshes.
Pick a clip in Tools → Compress videos, choose HEVC or H.264 and a quality preset, and the App shows the projected saving before you commit. Compression runs on your device, writes the smaller copy back to your photo library, and only then offers the original for deletion. Compression is lossy, so play the new copy and check it before deleting the original.
No. Those tools are optional and the rest of the App works without them. Contacts access is requested only when you open Tools → Clean up contacts, and calendar access only on Tools → Calendar cleanup. Both read your data on the device to show suggestions, apply only the changes you confirm, and never upload anything. You can revoke either permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
No. Snapsweep has no server and no account. Scanning, similarity grouping, blur detection and compression all happen on your iPhone, and nothing - not a photo, a thumbnail or a fingerprint - is transmitted to us or anyone else. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
Go to Settings → Language and pick one of the 12 supported languages. The interface and the widget switch immediately.
Uninstalling the App removes its scan cache, widget snapshot and settings from your device, including the shared widget container. Your photos, contacts and calendars are untouched by that - they belong to the system apps. We hold no copy of anything.
Please email us with what you were doing, what happened, and your iPhone model and iOS version. A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot. We read every report.
