Privacy Policy

Zapster Universal TV Remote · Swifty Solutions Company Limited

The short version: Zapster talks only to TVs on your own local network. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours anywhere in the picture. The TVs you save - their names, IP and MAC addresses and their pairing tokens - are stored only on your device. The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising and no tracking, and we collect no data at all. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

This Privacy Policy explains how Swifty Solutions Company Limited ("Swifty Solutions", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the Zapster Universal TV Remote mobile application, its widgets and its Siri shortcuts (the "App"), available on iOS.

Effective date: September 18, 2026

1. No Account, No Identity Data

The App does not have accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, no email verification and no social sign-in. You can install the App and start using a remote immediately.

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address or any other personal information.
  • We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA) and we do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
  • We do not collect your location. The App never asks for location permission.
  • We do not build a user profile, and we have no way to link anything in the App to you as a person.

2. Local Network Access and TV Discovery

To find your TV, the App scans the network your iPhone is connected to using SSDP and Bonjour. On the first scan, iOS asks for Local Network permission; discovery does nothing without it.

  • Discovery consists of local multicast and broadcast queries on your own Wi-Fi, and direct connections to the TVs that answer. No part of it involves a server of ours.
  • The App learns what the devices on your network advertise about themselves - brand, model name, friendly name, IP address, and for some brands the MAC address. That information is used to show you the device list and to connect.
  • We do not receive an inventory of your network. Nothing discovered on your network is transmitted to us or to any third party.
  • You can revoke Local Network access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Discovery will then stop working; you can still add a TV by typing its IP address.

3. Pairing and Remote Control

Depending on the brand, connecting to a TV involves a pairing step: accepting a prompt on a Samsung or LG TV, or typing the 4-digit PIN a Vizio TV shows. Roku TVs need no pairing.

  • Where pairing produces a token or client key, that credential is stored on your device only so you do not have to pair again. Pairing tokens never leave your iPhone.
  • Key presses, touchpad movements, volume changes, typed text and app launches are sent directly from your iPhone to your TV over your local network, using the TV manufacturer's own protocol. They do not pass through us.
  • Text you type with the in-app keyboard is sent to the TV's input field and is not stored by the App or recorded anywhere.
  • The power button can send a Wake-on-LAN magic packet to the TV's MAC address on your local network. That packet stays on your network.
  • What a TV exposes is decided by the TV and its manufacturer. Your interaction with your TV may be subject to the TV manufacturer's own privacy policy - that relationship is between you and them.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

The following is created while you use the App and is stored locally on your device only. It is not uploaded to, or retained by, any server operated by Swifty Solutions - we do not operate one for this App.

Stored locally on your device:

  • Saved TVs: the name (including any name you gave it), brand, model, IP address and, where available, MAC address of each TV you connected to, plus which ones are favourites.
  • Pairing credentials: the Samsung token, LG client key or Vizio auth token for each paired TV.
  • Widget configuration: which TV and which app tiles you chose for each widget size.
  • App settings and counters: language, haptics and keep-awake preferences, the daily key-press count used for the free tier's limit, and whether Premium is active.

This data lives in an App Group container on your device that is shared only between the App, its own widgets and its Siri shortcuts, so a widget button can act on the chosen TV without opening the App. No other app can read it. Using Forget on a TV deletes its entry and its pairing token from your device. If you have iCloud Backup or another device backup enabled, iOS may include the App's data in that backup under your own Apple ID and under Apple's terms. That backup belongs to you, not to us, and we cannot access it.

5. Nothing Is Transmitted to Us

The App has no backend. It does not send your saved TVs, IP or MAC addresses, pairing tokens, key presses or settings anywhere. Its network traffic goes to devices on your own local network and nowhere else. The only other network activity is the communication between your device and Apple that is required for in-app purchases (see Section 8) and for opening links you tap, such as this Privacy Policy.

6. No Analytics, No Advertising, No Tracking

  • The App contains no analytics SDK and no third-party crash-reporting SDK.
  • The App shows no advertising and contains no ad networks.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not know what you watch.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers - there is nothing to share.

Because there is no account and no analytics, we have no way to identify you, contact you, or see how you use the App.

7. Siri, Shortcuts and Widgets

The App's Siri phrases and Shortcuts actions, and the buttons in its Home Screen widgets, are implemented with Apple's App Intents framework. When you use one, it acts on the TV you selected in Widget Setup, over your local network, on your device. Siri request handling is performed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we receive nothing from it.

8. Purchases and Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by the Apple App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework. Your payment is made to Apple, not to us.

  • We never see or receive your card number, bank details, billing address or Apple ID.
  • The App only checks, on your device and through Apple, whether an active subscription or lifetime purchase exists, in order to unlock Premium features.
  • Purchases are subject to Apple's own privacy policy and terms: apple.com/legal/privacy.

9. Retention and Deletion

  • Saved TVs, pairing tokens, widget choices and settings remain on your device until you remove them.
  • Forget on a TV removes its entry and its pairing token from your device immediately.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data, including the shared widget container, from your device.
  • Deletion is immediate and permanent. Because we hold no copy on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
  • Any record your TV itself keeps of a paired device is controlled by the TV. Remove it in the TV's own settings (for example the device or pairing list in your TV's menu).

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children; the App collects no data at all. If a child has used the App on a shared device, forgetting the saved TVs or uninstalling the App removes the local data from that device.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA) or similar laws, including rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection.

Because the App is designed so that all data stays on your device and we hold no copy, you exercise these rights directly through the App's own controls:

  • Access: open the App - your saved TVs, widget choices and settings are visible and fully under your control.
  • Correction: rename a TV, change its IP address or change any setting at any time.
  • Deletion: use Forget on a TV, or uninstall the App.
  • Restriction: revoke Local Network permission in iOS Settings.
  • Objection: since no personal data is processed by us, there is nothing for us to restrict or stop processing.

We have no means of identifying you and therefore cannot look up, export or delete data on your behalf. If you have questions about these rights, contact us at contact@swifty-solutions.com.

Under the CCPA/CPRA we confirm that we do not sell and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

12. App Store Privacy Label

In line with the practices described above, the App's privacy details on the App Store are declared as "Data Not Collected": the developer does not collect any data from this app. If a future version of the App ever changes this, we will update both the App Store label and this Privacy Policy before that version is released.

13. Security

  • Saved TVs and their pairing tokens are stored in the App's private App Group container and protected by your device's own protections - passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file encryption.
  • Because the App sends nothing to us, there is no data in transit to us for anyone to intercept.
  • Communication with a TV uses the protocol that TV supports on your local network. Some manufacturers' protocols are unencrypted by design, so anyone already on your Wi-Fi could in principle observe remote commands. Keep your home network protected with a strong password, and avoid pairing on untrusted or public networks.

No method of storage is completely secure, and a lost, shared, unlocked or compromised device may expose the App's local content to others.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if the App gains new features or supports new TV brands. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top and bottom of this page and, where the change is material, provide notice in the App or on the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
