How do I change my state or test type?

Open the Settings tab. Under Exam, tap State to pick any of the 50 states or Washington, DC, and tap Test type to switch between the car and motorcycle test. Mock exams immediately use the new state's question count, time limit and passing score, and the "rules at a glance" sheet updates to that state. Your practice history is kept.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy Premium, then go to Settings → Premium → Restore Purchases. Both subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are restored this way. If nothing is restored, check your Apple purchase history to confirm which Apple ID the purchase belongs to.

How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the App. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose DMV Prep and tap Cancel Subscription. To avoid being charged after the 3-day free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You keep Premium until the end of the current period. How do I get a refund?

Because Apple processes every payment, refunds are also handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the DMV Prep purchase and choose "Request a refund". We are not able to issue refunds ourselves.

How do I export or move my progress?

Go to Settings → Backup → Export backup (JSON). The App creates a JSON file containing your answers, exam results, bookmarks, lesson and sign progress, streak and settings, and opens the iOS share sheet so you can save it to Files, AirDrop it or email it to yourself. On the other device, install DMV Prep, then use Settings → Backup → Import backup and pick the file. Importing merges the backup into that device's progress. Nothing is uploaded to us at any point.

Why does a question differ from my state's rule?

DMV Prep's question bank covers general U.S. driving rules and the most common state variations, while details such as speed limits, following distances, blood-alcohol limits and permit ages are set by each state and change over time. When you spot a difference:

• Check Settings → Exam → "[Your state] rules at a glance", which lists your state's own key numbers.
• Treat your state's official driver handbook as the final authority - it is what the real test is based on.
• Email us the question text and your state so we can review it. Corrections ship in the next App update.

Does the App work offline?

Yes. All questions, road signs, lessons and state data are built into the App. You only need a connection to download the App from the App Store, to buy or restore Premium, and to open links such as this page.

My daily reminder does not arrive.

In Settings → Daily goal, make sure Daily reminder is on and a time is set. The reminder is a local notification, so iOS must allow notifications for DMV Prep: check iOS Settings → Notifications → DMV Prep, and make sure Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing it. The reminder only fires on days you have not yet reached your goal.

What does Premium include?

The free version includes the Road Signs and Traffic Signals topics, one mock exam per day and a starter set of sign flashcards. Premium unlocks all 11 topics, unlimited mock exams, every flashcard, the timed challenge and the readiness score. Premium is offered as a weekly subscription with a 3-day free trial, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

How do I reset my progress?

Go to Settings → Progress → Reset All Progress. This permanently deletes your answer history, exam results, bookmarks, lesson and sign progress on that device and cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you may want it back. Your Premium purchase is not affected.

I found a wrong answer or a bug.

Please email us with the exact question text (or a screenshot), the state and test type you have selected, and your iPhone model and iOS version for bugs. We read every report.
